Our History
Leemark Engineering (Hayes) Ltd was founded by Brian Stockwell in 1967 as toolmakers supplying the local manufacturing companies with press tools. The company was an early pioneer into NC and then CNC Machines and changed from toolmakers to sub-contract machinist in a very short time. In the early 70’s Leemark was heavily involved with machining components for the EMI CT (Computerized Tomography) Brain Scanner, this was followed by other projects during the 70’s & 80’s including the development of the early satellite communication systems for BSB and many Aerospace and Motorsport projects, including manufacturing classic Bugatti engine components from original 1920’s drawings and Special Forces Helicopter Rapid Roping Rigs. Leemark has been trading with some of its customers for over 45 years which is testimony to the quality of service it provides.
Leemark has always maintained a policy of continual investment into the latest technology and highest quality machines available. In 1977 Brian invested in Leemark’s first Matsuura machining center a MC660V 3 Axis CNC Machine, at the time this machine was the pinnacle of technology, quality and accuracy and far superior to the more common NC machines of the time. Leemark is still a dedicated Matsuura user but now uses the latest 5 axis machines. Leemark also invested in early CMM technology years ahead of some of its competitors. The company is now run by Brian’s three sons. All three started work at Leemark as apprentices and firmly believe in a hands on approach to running the company, their direct involvement ensures good customer relationships are maintained and the smooth running of projects.
